The Playoffs are Coming!!!

The NBA Playoffs are just about to kickoff and if you are a fan of sports then you know some "Amazing" things are about to happen and some city will be having themselves a summer parade. As I've noted I am a fan of the Boston Celtics and I go into these playoffs just feeling uncertain about the Green. I mean I am far for a fair-weather or bandwagon fan but the way my boys ended the second half of the season can make you cringe. Last year when KG went down I was still optimistic and this year is no different, the Celtics by confession are old but I know the Big Three can spark a run into some good six or seven game series; given KG can play at 80%, Ray keep the groove he has shown after the trade deadline and P Squared (Paul Pierce) becomes a consistent threat. Defense of course got the Celtics a championship two seasons ago and that should be a vital area as well as the emergence of a solid bench, Rondo will the ultimate X-Factor since he has improved and might require more attention because they will leave him open if P and Ray are hitting shots but someone on the bench; Big Baby, Sheed (hope he can revive the Bad Boy Sheed), Tony Allen, Nate Robinson, or maybe some magic from Micheal Finley. The bench is a weird area for the Cs, Sheed must too old because he used to be good and complain but now he just complains, Nate and Marquis Daniels are inconsistent and were brought in to be energy guys, with the acquisition of Sheed Big Baby hasn't shown what he left us wanting to see after the playoffs last year. However Tony Allen has played consistent D and slowly has shown some transition offense that can make the bench a different offensive machine that the starters. The Celtics can score but their engine falters somewhere in the third quarter, solid defense and shutting down star players and getting into a team's scoring rhythm will have the Ws piling up and add to that solid bench play that keep this mindset along with guys who can keep up the scoring will have a team popping champagne. The Cs at times have lacked that desire from two seasons ago, and if they dont have it I hope they are not too inconsistent and go out like chumps because next year is a time to rebuild which can take two or three years, if not i hope they give us something to remember like last year's playoffs. Just gotta believe if not next year then...
