Formal Friday

When it comes to fashion design it just like any other endeavor; searching for that innovative turn or next step to improve something. The classic Americana look has always been a well of inspiration for the American and sometimes European designers and the pursuit to make it their own it why we have different lines for designers and why these ideas can transition through seasons. One person who has excelled in doing this is New York designer Michael Bastian who search for "those classic American things that you feel are out there but really aren't." Meaning an expansion from something like the perfect v-neck to the right combination of a polo and its perfect fit with a blazer. I'm drawn towards Bastian because he offers that active casual look that adheres to style but also has some spontaneity to its formal make-up, here are my picks from his Spring 2011 line.
