Now I guess this formal thing knows no seasons because formal fashion during the summer still consists of suits and blazers and that would leave someone like me drenched in sweet but I understand fashion is fashion I just wanted to emphasize how hot it it out here. But in the continuing tips of what to wear during the summer and what is in and out Esquire offer a quick list and here of course are my favorites.

Formal Friday

The thing I like about fashion as I think I've mentioned before is putting forth the minimal for the high standard. Suits should be simple and straight to the point but a designer has to add a touch that will make it theirs. I've always heard of Yves Saint Laurent mentioned here and there is some Kanye songs and I've seen their ads and that is the epitome of high life, even so it is all so simple and sometimes adventurous and he does introduce big idea but I'm so into the Beatles look slim cut suits that you see on the bottom. Sometimes minimal is the way to go.

For this Formal Friday I just wanted to give a quick salute to former Celtics Assistant coach and this year's Coach of the Year for the Chicago Bulls Tom Thibodeau who bowed out last night to the Miami Heat. After leaving the Celtics Thibs took the open seat for the man in the suit running the Bulls team that had courted Dwyane Wade and Lebron James only to land Carlos Boozer and a bunch of platoon players to go along with emerging point guard Derrick Rose who eventually became this year's MVP. Lost in the shuffle the Bulls were a dark-horse not being put in the race between the reigning Eastern Champs Celtics, Heat and even behind the Magic but they emerged with the best record in the league. Thibs brought his defensive mindset and the Bull's chemistry led to a run to the Eastern Conference Championship bout with Heat where they team picked the wrong time to go on thier first losing streak of more than 3 games this season. With that being said the years of his focus and creating a credible resume and bringing a passion for coaching on the table to me has turned Chicago into a contender this series can only make everyone better and its just their first year so I look to seeing the Bulls among the top teams of the league moving forward; a star player, a great coach and defense

Been absent over here at WaistUp my mind is all over the place, I'm into musical inspiration lull and trying so hard to have people listen to my new project, my naive project thought it would blow but I'm starting to realize it slow burn and I just need to make sure it keeps cooking (see my mind is all over the place). With that said for Formal Friday I'll just post some Wandering Eye shots that I find interesting and share those.

The Museum of Modern Art in New York recently had a little shindig you know to commemorate something or introduce something or maybe just a get together. The formal clad participants were treated to a not so formal wearing Kanye West performance with special guest Jay-Z, hey sometimes you got to keep it simple because the duo looked like two college kids who has stumbled to the party looking for the punch and snotty girls. Sometime you have to dress down thats an art in its own.

For some reason I have to yet to subscribe to GQ magazine but I still reference their website like 75% of the time in terms of feeding my style appetite. In the wide of array of things they offer the trend reports will having you feeling like you know whats going on in the world of fashion and though I'm one of those people who love to break trends its nice to know whats in sometime. GQ always offers the essentials for each season and though I'm kind of like I think, I went through their long list of their 2011 Spring trend report and picked the ones that caught my eyes and they are:

Midnight Blue (Color)

The suave and sleek look of the color is essential for the incognito look at an evening event

Sports Jacket

Taking the regular sports jacket and making it more dressier

Linen Suit

Once considered to be a fabric shunned by the fashion world, its perfect for staying cool even when its hot outside, wrinkles are in son.

Grey Jeans

I have never owned grey jeans they seem to match everything

Colored Chino

Can't keep wearing the same old borrowing khakis add some color to them.
